Los Ángeles Azules is a band from Mexico City that has forged a unique sonic identity for itself by blending elements of traditional cumbia with decidedly modern production and synthesizer accompaniments to create a sound that nods to the past and also looks to the future. Founded in 1976, the group has kept active over its decades long career and received special recognition in 2018 when it played Coachella, making Los Ángeles Azules the first traditional cumbia band to play the popular festival.
